Daniel Filippi
Research Scientist, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority

Daniel Filippi is a research scientist with TRCA's Sustainable Technologies Evaluation Program (STEP). Daniel also conducts LID construction and maintenance inspections for TRCA’s municipal partners ensuring appropriate design, implementation and future performance of these features are properly met. He has authored several peer-reviewed journal articles on the water quality impacts of the funeral industry on receiving waterbodies, the effects of alternative non-pesticide deterrents on invasive carp species, and mitigating future climatic impacts in Canada through targeted mechanisms aimed at private businesses, capital markets, and government agencies. Recently, he contributed to the development of a new national standard on flood resilient design for residential communities (CSA W210:21) and is the primary author of the “LID SWM Planning and Design Guide” which has updated the original 2010 version into an accessible, interactive wiki-site for practitioners.
