He has a BSc in Urban Forestry from the University of New Brunswick, and technical diplomas in Forestry and Urban Forestry from Fleming College. Ree's technical background is mainly in arboriculture and plant healthcare, and in his free time he writes, designs TTRPG settings, plays video games, and bird-watches.  

Scouting for Pests and Diseases

Scouting is your first line of defence against all sorts of insect and disease pests. We all know the basics of crop monitoring, but can you level up your scouting for a more reliably clean crop? This talk will provide tips and tricks learned from Dr. Jandricic's 25-year career working with ornamental growers and consultants.

Dr. Sarah Jandricic (Jan -DRIS- ick) is the Greenhouse Floriculture Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Specialist for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Agribusiness (OMAFA). She works directly with Ontario growers to help manage pest issues and find research solutions. She has worked continuously in floriculture IPM for over 25 years. As part of her current position, Sarah runs the ONFloriculture blog (ONfloriculture.com), to keep growers informed about recent pest control advances and issues facing the industry. Sarah is stationed in Vineland, Ontario and can be reached at sarah.jandricic@ontario.ca.

His extensive career experience in British Columbia, Alberta, and Manitoba has given him a broad understanding of regional safety regulations. He actively collaborates with small businesses, agricultural facilities, and community organizations throughout Southwestern Ontario, providing them with essential information, tools, and resources to maintain safe working environments.
