In Memoriam - Steven Rebelo
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Steven David Rebelo on February 27, 2018 at the age of 43.
Devoted husband of Mary Rebelo (nee Scalia) for 18 years. Adored father of Serena and Adrian. Much loved son of Manny and Eleanor Rebelo and son-in-law to Joe and Sara Scalia. Dear brother of Karen (Leo) Filice, Christine (Daniel) Vukovic and Kevin Rebelo (Stefani Giftopoulos). He will be sadly missed by his brother and sister in laws, Domenic (Patricia) Scalia, Carm (Peter) Douliou. He will be forever remembered by his nieces and nephews, Chiara, Xavier, Scarlett, Isaac, Joseph, Julia, Adrianna and Anthony. Cherished grandson of the late Manuel and Maria Rebelo, David and Florentina Bettencourt.
He will be sadly missed by many extended family, close friends and all those who were fortunate to know him. He touched so many lives with his kindness and gentle heart. He was the proud owner of S.Rebelo Landscapes who was recognized for his outstanding talents and passion for landscape design. He played hockey throughout his life, coached, mentored others, and was a proud hockey dad. He loved cheering for the Portugal national soccer team and was a big fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays.
He was well respected for his work in the community and his willingness and generosity to support numerous fundraising organizations. He will forever be remembered for his heart of gold, love for family and his humbleness. His kindness, generosity and caring ways will live on, in all of us.
Friends and Family are invited to a visitation being held at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 947 Rymal Rd. E., Hamilton, on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be offered at 2:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Regina Mundi Parish Church, 631 Mohawk Rd. West Hamilton Ontario, on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
