A word that the landscape industry has been using for the past number of years, received its official status when the New Oxford American Dictionary announced that staycation has been accepted as one of this year’s new words.

The definition of staycation? “A vacation that is spent at one’s home enjoying all that home and one’s home environs have to offer.” We can now use the word knowing, it is no longer in the slang category.
